SummerSlam 2017 Predictions

The biggest party of the Summer is this Sunday and I am back with another batch of predictions to see who is going to be winning and losing and the possible in-betweens that may occur.

Possible Match:

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (C) v Jason Jordon: Currently unsure about this match will even take place since that there hasn’t been any confirmation as of yet and if it does happen I think that I may as well try to predict this match. I think that this match could see Jason going over The Miz through a possible DQ with the Miz-tourage getting involved which would then lead to a rematch the next night on Raw. Or the more realistic matchup is that there is going to be a  6-Man match with Jordon teaming up with The Hardy’s to face the Miz-tourage where in this I will see Jordon and The Hardy’s going over.

Randy Orton v Rusev: So, with Rusev getting beaten by John Cena in a rather disappointing match and Orton losing another disappointing match with Jinder Mahal, I think that this is going to be a bit of a underrated match since that these two can put on good matches and I hope that this can be a good match, but since there doesn’t seem to be much of a good result in the future for them. But I do think that Rusev can get the win since that Orton already has had a good year and can still deal with the losses. Winner: Rusev

Big Cass v Big Show (Enzo Amore is in a Shark Cage): I am pretty sure that WWE is using the shark cage gimmick rather too much since that this is the third time in a year since they used it, but this time it is used for a different reason. With the other matches, it was used to keep somebody out from interfering, this time it is there to force somebody to watch the supposed beating of Big Show by Big Cass. I think that this is going to be one of the less interesting matches of the show since that this seems like it should have been a feud that is already over with, but I’m guessing that they still don’t know what to do with either Cass or Enzo since the split happened and I think that Cass will get the win since that Show can eat a loss. However, I think that this match is going to end with Enzo somehow getting over Cass to end the feud once and forever. Winner: Big Cass

John Cena v Baron Corbin: This match pretty much came out of the aftermath of SmackDown when Corbin attacked Shinsuke Nakamura and I think that now it is going to be less exciting since that Corbin had now cashed in his MITB Contract and this I think that Corbin is going to win his match. If Corbin still had his contract he could have easily have eaten the loss and he can then get the win at the end of the night cashing in against Mahal/Nakamura. But since that there is also news that John Cena is putting his acting career ahead of his dwindling wrestling career means that he could be easily eat a defeat and when he comes back he will most likely get a championship shot. Winner: Baron Corbin

‘The Demon’ Finn Balor v Bray Wyatt: This has been a weird feud of mind games and the after math from this week’s Raw it just got even weirder as they had a match, in which Wyatt won and then during the commercial break Wyatt then went to pour ‘acid’ or ‘paint’ over Balor which then caused something to happen where Balor says that the Demon is coming back and this is going to be the match that Balor will win since that Wyatt can still eat losses and will be able to get wins later this year, but I do think that Balor will be in the Universal Championship picture. Winner: Finn Balor

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Akira Tozawa (w/ Titus O’Neil) (C) v: Neville: So, I had to re-write this section since that on the Raw before SummerSlam, Titus O’Neil campaigned for the Tozawa to get his title shot early, and he managed to win it from Neville. But I think that Neville is going to get the win for this match since that he does seem to have the urge to get the title back means that he is going to do whatever he can to the win. Winner: Neville

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (C) v The Usos: One of the problems that I currently have seen in SmackDown for the past few weeks and that is SmackDown’s tag team division isn’t as good as what it was and one of the main facts is that it just seems to be focused around these two teams. Hopefully this will be the last time that we see these teams fight each other for the next few months since that it is getting rather stale and it currently is stale, for me at least. I think that New Day are going to win this with the fact that they have done wonders for the Tag Team division on Raw and since that it took them a while to get onto SmackDown I would like to see their reign take them to at least Royal Rumble or WrestleMania. Winner: The New Day

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Sheamus/Cesaro (C) v Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose: This also has been another weird feud that started off with Ambrose dealing with The Miz and Rollins coming out to help Ambrose and Ambrose not trusting Rollins for a few weeks and the feud then was re-shifted towards them forming an unlikely alliance when they were put into the Tag Title scene since that the Raw scene has been hampered again with one team succumbing to injury, again. I think that Rollins and Ambrose are going to get the win here but I don’t think that they are going to get the titles yet and that Sheamus and Cesaro are going to get either DQ’d or walk away. Winner: Rollins/Ambrose via DQ/ Count Out

WWE Untied States Championship Match: AJ Styles (C) v Kevin Owens (Special Guest Ref Shane McMahon): After the rather dodgy end of their match that they had at Battleground where we saw a rather confusing sequence where a Ref bump seemed to be overdone. Then during the rematch on the following SmackDown another Ref bump this time proved rather useful as I think that the original plan from Battleground was and Styles won the title back from Owens, but this caused Owens to complain to the Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon where Bryan decides to anoint Shane as the special guest Ref since that all the other refs kept getting knocked down. But I have a feeling that there is going to be another Ref bump that will see some sort of hijinks that will change the match, but I think that Styles will retain the championship that will then see he re-issue the open challenge on SmackDown. Winner: AJ Styles

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Naomi (C) v Natalya: Well this sure was a rather weird matchup. At Battleground Natalya won the no.1 contenders match, which I think shocked a lot of people including myself, since that I thought that Charlotte would have won it since that was a match up that Naomi would have liked to have had since that she was asked a question on Talking Smack. Hopefully this will be a good match, but I think that it isn’t going to be one of the highlights of the night since I think that it could be changed into a triple threat match since that Carmella still has her MITB Contract, which she can cash in at any time and I think that this would be an opportune moment since that it would give a lot of heel heat towards Carmella, plus it would give a good match between Carmella and Naomi at the following PPV. But A part of me thinks that it is going to be another distraction by Carmella that will cause Natalya to lose but this then causes Natalya to attack Naomi and Carmella cashes in. Winner: Naomi/Carmella (Cash In)

WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match: Alexa Bliss (C) v Sasha Banks: Originally supposed to be facing Bailey but due to a possible botched move that caused an injury and the match had to be rearranged with two triple threat matches and that lead Sasha Banks to face off against Bliss for the title at SummerSlam and I think that she is going to get the win against her which I think it is going to get Sasha to start her heel turn which will then lead her to have a match with Bailey most likely at Survivor Series for their main blow off. Winner: Sasha Banks

WWE Championship Match: Jinder Mahal (C) (w/ The Singh Brothers) v Shinsuke Nakamura: So far, this year it has really shocked me with the winners of the WWE Championship with Bray Wyatt and Jinder holding them, but I think that Jinder has done a better job with it than what Bray did. I think that this match is going to have a lot of hijinks since that not only does Mahal have the Singh Brothers at his back, but they could be expelled at the beginning of the match, but he also does have a 7ft monster in the form of the Great Khali, but he hasn’t been seen since the end of Battleground PPV last month. I do however think that Nakamura is going to win this match since that I do see him holding the title to at least Survivor Series or Royal Rumble for possible plans to have him and AJ Style to fight at next year’s WrestleMania. Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE Universal Championship Fatal Four Way Match: Brock Lesnar (C) (w/ Paul Hayman) v Roman Reigns v Samoa Joe v Braun Strowman: This match could be rather unpredictable since that there are only three possibilities on who is going to win the title since that I do think that Lesnar is going to be dropping the belt, but I don’t think that he is going to be pinned to lose the title. So, since that I think that Lesnar is going to be out of the picture I think that it is going to go down to either Reigns or Joe since that I think that they are going to be going into a feud between the two of them for the next Raw PPV. But if I had to go with an actual pick I think that it is going to be Joe since that he seems to be a more likely choice. Winner: Samoa Joe

Money In The Bank 2016 Predictions

MITB2016So we are half way through the year and coming up to the event that can change the course of a wrestler if they can win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Also sorry for not having one up for Extreme Rules I was busy with other projects at the time.

Pre Show: Baron Corbin v Dolph Ziggler: What did we do so wrong WWE that you keep pushing this rivalry down our throats? WE DO NOT WANT THIS TO GO ON. It has been rather pointless and just to get it out of the way I think that Corbin is going to win and hopefully we will never see these guys wrestle again.

Apollo Crews v Sheamus: Out of these two stories that are going on in the pre show this one does seem to be a lot better told and to make it quick I am going to say that Crews is going to get the win for this match.

Main Card: Tag Team Women’s Match: Charlotte and Dana Brooke v Natalya and Becky Lynch: So this could be rather interesting match since the aftermath of Raw where Brooke accidently screwed Charlotte by rolling her into the ring and instantly into Paige pinning Charlotte. Even though it seems that Natalya and Becky seem to have the advantage over Charlotte and Brooke but I think that they may have something in their back pocket. I think that there could be another member of the Horsewomen stable that they are building, but to give a name I would have no idea. For the win will go to Charlotte and Brooke with outside interference.

United States Championship Match: Rusev (C) with Lana v Titus O’Neil: From being suspended for 60 days who would ever thought that Titus O’Neil would be in a title picture because I sure didn’t. I think that this has been a well built up with O’Neil coming in after the rematch that Rusev had with Kalisto after Smackdown by making the save and putting himself in the title picture. Comparing this rivalry to the rivalry for the World Heavyweight Championship this one is better structured and written than the main event and I think that fans can agree with this. Even though that Rusev is a strong wrestler I do think that it is turn for O’Neil to have his first singles run as a champion.

Fatal Four Way Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day v Gallows & Anderson v The Vaudevillians v Enzo and Cass: Well this could be another interesting match. You have three teams going against The New Day this could be the chance that we could see a title change. But I don’t think that they will drop the titles for a while. Tag Team FFThe New Day are pretty over with the crowd and it could look like that WWE wants them to try and beat the reign of the former longest running Tag Champions, I think it was Paul London and Brian Kendrick, so they could have the titles at least until Summer Slam or after. But if they were thinking of dropping the belts to a team I think that they would go to either The Club or Enzo and Cass. With The Club with the belts then this could start a good run for them to become NWO-esq where they come in and take over all the belts in the company was Balor comes up. Enzo and Cass are also pretty over as well with the fans and would be good to see them win the belts since that even with the chances that they had in NXT they were never able to capture the titles. But for my sure guess on who I think is going to win I am saying The New Day.

John Cena v AJ Styles: So for a long time I have always wondered what it would have been like if AJ Styles was to face off against John Cena and finally my first dream match has came true. The promo’s that they have done for this match has been pretty awesome and Styles can pull off a really good heel persona, go see his promos from TNA when he was a heel and you can see why, and he did bring up a real problem that people know about John Cena and that is he buries people. I think that this match is going to be one of the most interesting since that there could be something that could cause the match to be a bit strange. Since that Styles was given two contracts by Cena to sign, one with The Club in Styles corner and just a single match between the two of them and Styles signed the singles match. A really good theory that some fans have had is that Finn Balor could make an appearance in helping Styles get the win but I am not sure if this can happen since that he is still on tour with NXT unless that this does happen. I still think that Styles will still win any way since that he is a more experienced wrestler than what Cena is and he has changed his style a lot more.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Dean Ambrose v Sami Zayne v Cesaro v Kevin Owens v Chris Jericho v Alberto Del Rio: From what I remember I think that this could easily be the best MITB match that WWE has put together. We have three faces and heels in this match and everyone pretty much has history with each other. But to get something off the bat there are one person who I don’t think will be winning the match and that is Dean Ambrose and that is I think that he can be one of these wrestlers that can get as many chances at the title but can fall up short but is always a good mid-card wrestler.MITBladdermatch Yet there could seem to be a slight blunder with WWE by accidently leaking the poster for next month’s PPV with possibly spoiling it with Ambrose actually winning the match so. But there is one wrestler who I do think that can win it and that is Kevin Owens, he came up short in the ladder match at this year’s WrestleMania and I think that since he debut on the main roster last year I think that it is about time that he can have something go his way. So for my winner I am going with Kevin Owens or as a spoiler choice Ambrose.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) v Seth Rollins: When Rollins returned at the last PPV I was excited when he returned and beat Reigns down. But then during the build up for this match I was bored by it all. Especially the segment where Rollins was teasing if he was going to attack Reigns and it was more boring than the rivalry between Dolph and Corbin. I think that this match could be rather one sided and ends with either a Dusty finish or with the winner of the MITB match teasing a cash in and cost somebody the match. I am going to take a guess and say that Reigns is going to win but he is going to drop the title at Summer Slam.

WWE Superstars That Are Badly Used

So with a large amount of WWE wrestlers being released from their contracts or negotiating to get out of their contracts early there are a lot of wrestlers that I think that WWE should put focus on some of these talents since that there is a lot of good potential that just keeps on getting screwed over by creative.

Goldust

Goldust: I am going to be putting Goldust low on this list mainly with rumours going around for the past few days that he could be doing the same as his brother and trying to release himself from his contract. Goldust over the many years has been a rather mid-carder for WWE and when he returned in 2013 and won the tag team titles with his brother, Cody, I thought things might have went well for him. But instead they went rather badly, especially when they decided to have Cody dress up as Stardust. Ever since he returned after injury he has been used more as a comedic role and spent something in the span of three-four months trying to form a tag team with R-Truth which, some of it has been good, it has went on for far too long and then had them forming two other teams to then have their partners turn on them and then have Golden Truth be actually formed. Hopefully this does go somewhere. But I just realised something rather baffling to me, THEY ALREADY DID THIS. Years ago when Booker T was still a active wrestler he and Goldust formed a tag team where Goldust was trying to get Booker to join him in rather bizarre ways and this is just a repeat. 14 years later and WWE are reusing stories. Nevertheless I would have loved to see Goldust at least have one last run with the Tag Team titles if he is deciding to leave the company.

The Asencion

The Ascension: Ever since The Ascension came up to the main roster from NXT they haven’t gotten over well with the audience what so ever. Even though that they were over with the crowds in NXT which does rather baffle me as a fan. I think that a reason why they didn’t go over well with the audience is because of the terrible booking that creative did give to them. They should have booked them to be rather strong being able to take out most of the tag team roster. However due to the time that they were brought up the tag team division was pretty naff to begin with. There were not that many good teams then and they just then got pushed back into a corner then teamed with Stardust for a few months. What I think WWE would need to do would to be re-package them in a rather different to what they are. Have them be sort of like The Eliminators, since there finisher is rather similar to theirs, have them interfere in matches with whoever the tag team champions are at the time and then keep on booking them as good heels from then. Hopefully something good could happen to them when Konnor comes back from suspension.

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler: How is it that a former World Champion can go downhill so fast? Possibly due to injuries that he has sustained. But when was the last time that we have seen Ziggler actually do something rather big and major? A very long time. He has been put in some of the worst story lines that WWE have had in the past several years and I think that it would be a good chance for him to actually win a title and become a credible wrestler yet again. He hasn’t had a title since cashing in Money in the Bank briefcase on Alberto Del Rio and that was quite a while ago. Currently he has been in a really long and boring programme with new NXT call-up Baron Corbin and that should have been over a while ago instead of still continuing on. I hope that something does happen good to Ziggler soon because he just seems to be in a rather rut when it comes to going anywhere currently in WWE, a title win (quite possibly US Title) could see him reignite his career as champion.

Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder: What can I say, Zack Ryder is the one superstar that I can think of that gets screwed over time and time again by WWE’s creative. He had a great run in December of 2012 winning his first ever single title on the main roster beating Dolph Ziggler for the US Title, then going on to drop it to Jack Swagger, got assaulted by Kane in a storyline between him and John Cena and then finds his ‘girlfriend’ Eve Torres making out with Cena. From then there was nothing major that he was in until this year when he was a part of the Intercontinental Championship ladder match where he managed to surprise a lot of people and was able to win it, but then went on to then loose the title to The Miz on the next night. I think that WWE were stupid to have him not even have a legitimate run with the title. What they should have done was have The Miz win then have Zack going up against him and then when Maryse was brought in for Miz and then bring in Emma to be on Zack’s side that way it would be a good programme that they could do and could see Zack being a good mid card competitor. Hopefully he could be back as a contender to a title sometime this year.

YouTube Spotlight: UpUpDownDown

For a very long time as many people who read this blog or know me well I am a big fan of wrestling and also video game fan as well. Around about October or November last year I started watching the channel of UpUpDownDown mainly because I was rather bored and it seemed something rather interesting and from that point I was hooked with the channel from there.

Xavier Woods so far for me has been one of the most entertaining hosts that I have seen on a YouTube channel for a long time and his enthusiasm that he has for videogames is overwhelming. He is a great host and gets along well with all of his guests that he has on and that does make a great point on why he is such a good host. A lot of his greatest banter is when you see any video that has him and Kofi Kingston in Mortal Kombat since they have a lot of fun facing off against each other. Another favourite thing for me that makes me like Woods as a host is that he is willing to have himself be scared by playing horror games, some don’t pay off that well, but all the other times it is hilarious and does make think he is willing to do anything to entertain the audience.

I think that one of the points that rather interested me in this channel was one of the segments known as the Gamer Gauntlet where you have a few wrestlers talking part in a small tournament playing a game, usually Mortal Kombat X or Street Fighter and has the loser being subject to a challenge that they have to do such as being having tennis balls being thrown at them or (a favourite of mine) being made to eat things like Ghost Peppers. Another of my favourite Gamer Gauntlet moments was the Madden 2K16 tournament where I think I started to then watch more and more of the channel, keeping up-to-date with who got through and thinking on who was going to win and I was a bit worried at first since about when Seth Rollins got through that he may have been out of the tournament, since he got injured at a house show, but he managed to still play in the series and win it. This for me was quite a good tournament and I hope to see more of this later this year when the Madden 2K17 comes out.

Another favourite segment of mine from this channel is the Superstar Save-Point. This is an excellent part since we find out more about the person that is on the show then just the character that we see each and every week on television. For instance I wouldn’t have picked people like Seth Rollins to be a gamer but he had some pretty interesting things to say. I have always found it that when I’ve went to conventions I have found that stories are always fun but since that I can’t travel to many conventions since where I live this is a good alternative since that there are a lot of interesting stories that the wrestlers do share about their gaming lives and about their childhoods as well so if anyone does like the sorts of road stories that wrestlers talk about they might like this segment.

My final favourite thing about this channel is one of the streams that Mike Murphy, more commonly known on the channel as El Murpho, does and that is the MyCareer Mode on WWE 2K16 and it is so entertaining to watch. Even though I don’t watch the streams for it, mainly because when the stream is on I am usually watching something and completely forget about it, I watch from part to part since that the whole entire stream gets divided into roughly five or six parts and they then get uploaded to the channel before the beginning of the next stream. This I do find really good since there are a lot of people who may not have two or so hours to spare and they can watch up to whatever they want to watch and then resume when the parts get uploaded. Another reason why I do really like this is because it does really want me to go out and by a copy of WWE 2K16 since that it seems to be the closest to actual wrestling that any of the games have came to and that the last WWE game that I have played was Smackdown v Raw 2011. But I may just wait till 2K17 comes out since that the game is probably is going to be a real problem to update.

These are my favourite parts of UpUpDownDown and I do want to wish good luck to Austin and the whole crew and hope to see more great content for the channel and for it to keep on growing, and remember: Keep It Tight!!!

Payback 2016: Predictions

Payback

Pre Show:

United States Championship Match: Kalisto (c) v Ryback: So in a rematch (in a way) from WrestleMania since a few weeks afterwards Ryback beat Kalisto in a non-title match means that we’re getting another match. Usually I want to root for the underdog in this match but for this time round I am actually going to side with Ryback on this point. One of the reasons that I am going to side with Ryback is because there could be a side where Kalisto could be possibly injured after the match that the Lucha Dragons had against the Dudley Boys in the Tag Team Tournament. He seemed to be injured but I don’t think that it could be serious plus with Ryback as a champion he could be put in a position where he could open up the Open Challenge which I have been missing from Raw since John Cena lost the title last year.

Main Card:

Dolph Ziggler v Baron Corbin: This seems to be a match that seemed to come pretty much out of nowhere, other than the outcome of the Post-Mania match that these two had that ended in a double count out. I really don’t care that much about this match to be honest since that there doesn’t seem much that could come out of the result of this match but for a winner I am going to say Corbin is going to win since he seems to have a bigger role to play since being a current call up.

Tag Team Match #1 Contender for the WWE Tag Team ChampionshipEnzo Amore and Colin Cassady v The Vaudevillans: Well I think that this is going to be a rather good tag team match that we could see after the rather disappointment that we got from WrestleMania. We have two rather great tag teams called up from NXT that have had good matches since being called up especially with Enzo and Cass who seemed to get over amazing well with the live crowds on Raw and Smackdown plus they even knocked off one of WWE greatest Tag Teams of all time The Dudley Boys. I have seen some of the matches from The Vaudevillains and they too are a pretty good team but I think that Enzo and Cass are going to get the win and then face off against The New Day. I have a small chance that this match could take place on the Pre Show and then having the winners fight on the main card against the New Day, but I think that the match will be on Raw the next night.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte (c) with Ric Flair v Natalya with Bret Hart: Well I am really looking forward for this match since the fact that this is going to be something good and pretty much a rematch from NXT a few years ago. From the match that they had just on Raw I am really rooting for Natalya to win this match since that I am rather getting tired of Charlotte winning matches because of the ‘cheating’ that she has used with the help of Ric Flair since that WWE are trying to push her as the new dirtiest player in the game. This is why I am glad that Natalya revealed that her uncle Bret Hart is going to be in her corner for the match and this then does give Natalya an edge in the match for Bret to keep an eye on Flair so that he doesn’t help Charlotte to cheat. But the winner I am going with is Natalya.

Sami Zayne v Kevin Owens: Well it would eventually would have came down to this seeing Zayne face off against Owens on a main stage, which should have taken place at WrestleMania instead of that ridiculous ladder match. I am not going into that much detail with this since that anyone who knows the relationship, just in NXT between these two knows why this match ended up happening. I get the feeling that this match is going to have a lot of good spots in it, even though that this is a regular match and that we are likely to get a follow up at Extreme Rules. I am going to predict that Zayne is going to win this match.

Dean Ambrose v Chris Jericho: So this does seem that it can be a really good match since that you have a person who should have won at the last event and a person that should have lost at the last event. From what I’ve seen from Smackdown and Raw I think that this can be a well told match, they’ve had a lot of good back and forth on the mic and this could carry on well to the match. I really do want to see Ambrose win this match since I do see him as a main event attraction since he hasn’t had a large amount of PPV wins for a while since he held the United States Championship when the SHIELD was still around. I really do wish that they would use Jericho more a person to put over younger talent because I think that would be a good use of a part timer wrestler.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) w/ Maryse v Cesaro: Oh boy is this not how I thought that this was going to be arranged, but before I would say who I am going to think would win I am going to say how they could have booked this better. First since that Zack Ryder lost the belt and the rematch I think that he should have went back on Raw and attacked Miz on Miz TV and then you have Maryse try and interfere in the fight then you have Emma come down and attack Maryse, that way you have a even playing field with Emma being in Zack’s corner, they could then lead down the road to the PPV and possibly have a mixed tag match, if Maryse is legitimately back to wrestle or even for one night then have a final match at Payback where Ryder would get the win and have his payback. But for this I am going to go with Cesaro for the win for this match since The Miz in my point doesn’t seem that good of a champion.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) v AJ Styles: Now going in to this I already have a prediction on who is going to win and that is Reigns is going to win the match. But he is going to win it non-cleanly. What I think is going to happen is that Styles is going to have the upper hand through most of the match then Gallows and Anderson are going to make an appearance. They are going to interfere in the match but they are not going to be the ones that would cost Styles the match. The lights go out and Finn Balor’s music hits and he appears behind Styles and throws up the sign. Styles throws it up to but then Balor attacks Styles and hits the 1916 on Styles and throws the gun sign over Styles. Reigns gets the cover and the match ends with Balor, Anderson and Gallows standing over Styles in the ring.

January – March Update

Hey guys this is a quick update on what I’m planning on doing for the site over the next couple of weeks/month and I’m going to start by revealing that through my Facebook page (Iron Dan 13) that for my 100th blog I’m going to be counting down of my top 5 of my favourite films of all time. I was originally going to do this as one blog post but instead I’ve decided to give each film attention and do five different blogs with the 100th being my #1 film. So far I have been making a short list but I’m going to possibly make some changes to the list I’ve currently made. But I will make a promise that 96-100 will be my top five films.

On to more news, if I haven’t got anything started yet I will be possibly covering either two or three films. If I can do three films for the month  the first film I would be covering will be Dad’s Army and seeing how well this version can be from its predecessor. The second or possibly first in some cases that I’ll cover will be Deadpool since the fact that this one looks like it has more potential than what the version of Deadpool was like in X-Men Origins Wolverine. The wild card film that I would like to cover is a film that is already out in America and that is The Forest and I sort of wanting to go and see this film with some other friends but I don’t know if anyone wants to go see it.

There also will be a blog this month as well with the latest batch of predictions for WWE Fast Lane and hopefully this month I’ll get all my predictions right this time round since at Royal Rumble I only predicted two matches incorrectly. So far the only match that I know that’s taking place is a baffling triple threat number one contenders match between Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. In all honesty I don’t think that Brock should have been in this match since, one he wasn’t in a match on Raw and two I don’t think that he deserves a title opportunity since WWE are using him more as a prize fighter than a wrestler. There are so many wrestlers that are on the roster that deserve a chance than Brock. So once that there is a full card I’ll post it either Saturday before the event or Sunday before the event.

And finally I’ve been contemplating on whether or not to go to Newcastle Comic Con in March in a costume or just to go in usual clothes. But I have no idea what to goes as anymore. I did have a idea for a costume that was going too be the Blues Brother since I have a friend who is a fan of the film and that it could be easier to assemble that way. Then I had a crazy idea to actually go with a joke idea that came up when I used to be part of a podcast called Geekpod where we came up with a idea to go dressed as a group of characters from American Dad and my character was going to be Barry, which is going to be also easy to form since that it is a white T-shirt and green shorts which on a budget is easier to get. Well at least I’ve got till the end of February to decide if I want to get dressed and go to the Con.

Well that’s all for this update so catch me again in a few days for the next blog.

That’s all I got say for this.

Royal Rumble 2016 Predictions

Well it’s a new year but I’m back with a prediction for this year’s Royal Rumble and this year’s Rumble Match is something that hasn’t been done, sort of, since 1992 where the WWE World Heavyweight Title is going to be on the line and also the defending champion is in the match as well, but I’ll get to that when I go for my predictions for that match but first time to talk the matches before.

Pre-Show: Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match: Dudley Boyz v Darren Young and Damien Sandow v The Ascension v Mark Henry and Jack Swagger:

So I wasn’t actually going to cover this match originally since the fact that this was to go up on Tuesday but I ended up being rather busy with other things that I forgot about it but finding out that it has Royal Rumble implications does make me want to predict this more. This is going to be rather heated but I defiantly think that this will be about a 15-20 minute match since that whichever team wins is doing double duty and they would need to get a long cool down period. It does seem difficult for me to narrow down a team to win but I’m going to cheat and have two picks. The first pick is going to be the Dudley Boyz since that they have been a successful tag team for now nearly 20 years and they have a lot of history in tag team competition. My second pick is going to be Young/Sandow, I would really like to see WWE actually push these two since they are pretty good talent but with the way creative have been with them it would be hard to see it.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day v The Usos: Boy have I had enough of seeing this match being repeated every bloody month. The New Day have been up against The Usos ever since they returned to the WWE last year and I do think that it’s to see a WWE bringing up some new well deserving tag teams from NXT that deserve a shot on the roster. I think that The New Day are going to retain since the fact that they will have that one person advantage so until there’s a team that can figure that out then New Day is here to stay.

WWE Divas Championship Match: Charlotte (with Ric Flair) v Becky Lynch: So here we go with another match that we have seen on pretty much every Raw, I think, since their match at TLC last month and I’ve got to say that I think that this could have been better if there was an additional stipulation to the match so that either of them could have won in a ‘dirty’ way. For instance how cool would it be if we saw these two go in a Strap match such as what Sable and Luna did for their match at the 1999 Royal Rumble, that way they could only get the win by touching the corners and that Flair would have a harder time interfering since that he can’t block or cause rope breaks. But since that this is going to be a single match that Charlotte is going to win, she’s dirtier and WWE are trying to build her reign more over the next few months until either Nikki Bella comes back or even better when Sasha Banks comes back since that she is probably the only decent wrestler along with Charlotte that deserves the title.

WWE United States Championship Match: Alberto Del Rio v Kalisto: Why the hell did WWE decided to give the title to Kalisto for one freaking night was such a freaking waste. Really what was the point of giving him the title if they were going to give it to Del Rio the next night this is what I think is really stupid with WWE when they do foolish decisions like this. Nevertheless since that Kalisto lost the title due to some help that Del Rio got from his League of Nation partner I think that if they were to go one on one Kalisto can pull off an upset and I pick Kalisto for the win.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose v Kevin Owens: Last Man Standing: There are two Royal Rumbles that always stick out to me that have had memorable matches before the Royal Rumble match, that being 1999 The Rock v Mandkind and 2000 Triple H v Cactus Jack, both of these matches did push each competitor to the furthest they could go in the match and both had great stipulations in the form of I Quit and Street Fight. This match has the possibility to be in the same boat as those matches. From what we have seen from Ambrose and Owens is that they would do anything to take out the other. So in this match it will be really hard to narrow down a winner, but I am going to go with Ambrose. He has been in a lot more harder matches than what Owens has had in the WWE and since that I haven’t seen many of his matches that he did when he was on the indy circuit or even in ROH I can’t put anything solid there for Owens. I can probably already guess that the announce table is going to have a major factor with the match since the last few occasions on Raw and I believe Smackdown the announce table has always been a good part in the match and since this is a Last Man Standing I’m expecting it to end there like how Jericho and Triple H ended at Fully Loaded 2000.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Royal Rumble Match: Now this is going to be a pretty unpredictable match but I get the feeling that after the events of Raw that there is going to be a massive screw job going to happen to Roman Reigns, the defending champion since he was force picked the #1 entry for the Rumble Match.

For this match I could see a few people that may either be Alumni that may make a surprise appearance. In a video that WWE posted yesterday they had a list of wrestlers that could make a surprise appearance such as Sting since he’s being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, but there are some others that they announce that I don’t think will make an appearance and that is Daniel Bryan and Seth Rolling. Both of these wrestler have been on the shelf for a while with serious injuries but I really don’t think that either of them will make an appearance especially for Daniel Bryan since that after last year being sidelined with a neck injuries I rather would see him come back between the Raw after the Rumble and Fast Lane just to make sure that he is in the all clear since that people don’t want to see any repeats from last year. With Seth Rollins I think that in the video WWE just want to try and hype people up instead of giving them a disappointment but I think that Rollins would seem more likely than Bryan at the moment.

Other people that I think that can make an appearance in the Rumble are possibly some NXT stars, you never know since that it would be a pretty good debut for a chance to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title. If it is someone from NXT that comes up I would think that it could be Finn Balor or maybe even Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. But with other news coming through from new signings that WWE have got in the past two weeks we could be seeing a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles as well as Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson from the Bullet Club stable where Finn Balor was the first leader of the team. Also with the past week AJ Styles was in the UK on tour with 5Star Wrestling said (adlibbing here) ‘If there is a spot in the Royal Rumble match, put me in it and I will kick some ass for you’. I think that it would be really awesome if AJ Styles was to debut here since that it would be the first time since I think it could have been 2001 or 2002 when the last time Styles had been in a WWE ring. Plus also for the past week Finn Balor has been leading a lot of clues about the former Bullet Club members so there could be a chance that we see them here.

Now to go with the people that are actually in the Royal Rumble match I think that it could be something from here that could win the title. For instance one of the major factors for the match is that you have the entire Wyatt family in the match and they have been rather dominate over the past few weeks on Raw and Smackdown especially since they have Braun Strowman who is pretty much a human wrecking ball and if he get a hold of Reigns and chokes him out with that finisher of his there will defiantly be a new champion. Another wrestler that I think can win this is Brock Lesnar, though he hasn’t appeared in a Royal Rumble match since 2003, which he won, I think that he can throw a lot of people over the top. Then we have Roman Reigns, the number one entry and I got to say that if Roman manages to a) win this match or b) get to the final two it does rather prove that he is a great wrestler. Not that many people have been able to go the distance in the Rumble and since that there is a lot more on the line I see that Romans chances are really slim 1/30 chance that he can retain. But on the plus side since that Roman is starting at number one he can go for a Royal Rumble record by trying to beat his elimination record he set in 2014 so there’s something that he can look forward to try and beat.

But in all honesty I can have a solid one person prediction for this match so I’m going with three predictions for this and that is Reigns, AJ Styles ( if he debuts) and Brock Lesnar.
