E3 2017 Games I’m Forward To Play

Last year I did a list of the games revealed at E3 and there were a lot of games that I liked the look of, but I only wanted to make it a top ten lists. So, this year I have decided to expand on my usual list lengths and just doing a list of the games that I am looking forward to playing or at least look interesting.

Call of Cthulhu: When I heard about this game last year, there wasn’t that much information about the game at that date. However, this year we got a trailer for the game and it does look rather interesting. It seems that this game is going to be a first-person exploration game, in the same way that Amnesia is where you’re going around looking for clues to try and solve whatever the story is. I think that this could be a game that I could pick up, but I would need to see something more solid before I put my money down.

Days Gone: Another game that we saw from last year’s E3 and that showed a very cool video of the protagonist that you play trying to run away from a hoard of zombies through a farm area and the immense nature of the zombies was something that intrigued me and some of my friends.  But when the latest footage that was shown, we saw a lot more of the game. The first being that we can ride certain vehicles in the game, with this showing a motorbike. Luring away zombies from a camp to set up an ambush to go and rescue a member of your group. But then we got something more amazing than anything that I have seen in a zombie film and that is we get to, at some point, facing a zombie bear and that is what I am looking forward to.

Dragon Ball Fighter Z: One of the more stranger reveals of E3, for me, was this game since that I knew going in that this was going to be shown, but I didn’t know where it would have shown up. Up to this point I had only played Xenoverse 2 as the only fighting game that was Dragon Ball based on and I was really hoping for a new fighting game for consoles. Then this game was announced and I was really looking forward to it since that it was going to be a 2.5d game which is rather different to what we currently have. Hopefully that this game is going to be good to play since that the only time that I have played a demo for Extreme Butoden and I wasn’t that impressed with it since that it was 3v3 and not 1v1.

Far Cry 5: Another game that was revealed before E3 and this is something that has rather intrigued me. The main reason that this has got my interests me is that instead of this game taking place somewhere rather mysterious and exotic islands or areas, but Montana. The main story of the game seems to revolve around a cult leader and you are a sheriff’s deputy trying to protect the residence of Hope County from the cult. Another thing that I like from the information that we got from this reveal was that you also have the chance to get companions and they seem to be rather useful as well and the two that I like are Boomer, the dog, who can take out enemies as well as giving you guns from the fallen enemies. The second is Grace Armstrong who appears to take the distance approach as she her main is a Sniper Rifle. I think that if I do get this game I would be using Grace more than the other Hires that you can get since that I do find her being a sniper to be a lot more useful. Another thing that I like that was revealed from an interview from GameSpot and that is that there isn’t going to be any towers or possibly even a mini map which is rather weird compared to previous games where there were towers where you could find further points in the map.

Kingdom Hearts 3: I have been playing Kingdom Hearts for only a short period of time, but I have been looking forward to seeing what this game is like and I think that this could be a cool game. So far from what I have seen, the story seems interesting and that it involves Sora reuniting with Donald, Goofy, Riku and King Mickey who are trying to stop Master Xehanort’s plan and try and stop the second Keyblade War. There are two things that I am looking for from the game is the new worlds that they are going to add, since that currently we have two new worlds. The first is Tangled where we get Rapunzel and Big Hero 6 where we get Baymax. Plus, at this year’s D20 event there will be a new character and world revealed and I am hoping for one of two worlds, one being a Star Wars world where we could get Luke/Rey as a playable character or a Marvel world where I have no idea who would be playable. The second thing that I like is the Japanese dub since that it sounds a lot more better than what the English dub is so I’m hoping for an option where I can change it cause Japanese Hades sound awesome.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2: All the LEGO games that I love playing are the ones that have original stories and when I heard that this game was coming out I knew that I was going to be getting it since that it would be a lot better than Marvel’s LEGO Avengers game that came out since that was a rather bad game. But with this game since that it has its own story makes it a better game by default for me. The story from what we know is it is going to be based in a world called Chronopolis where time displacements happen which cause heroes to be placed in different time lines and that they all must unite against Kang the Conqueror who plans on taking over Chronopolis. I like the look of the game as it takes a lot of elements from previous games and I hope that it can make them better. I am looking forward to seeing what the full story and what DLC content will follow since I really loved playing them since they are something fun to do.

Life is Strange- Before the Storm: I played Life is Strange and I liked playing it. However, when Square Enix revealed that this was going to be released, I was really hoping that this was going to be the sequel that Dontnod Entertainment have in development, but it turns out that it is in fact going to be a three-part prequel series that is going to be done by Deck Nine Games instead. This did sort of bother me since that there has been a bad track record for me when I have played a game series where a title was made by a different company, such as Arkham Origins being made by WB Montreal instead of Rocksteady. But nonetheless I am slightly looking forward to it since that it tells the story on what happened to Chloe three years before the events of Life is Strange and we also get to see more of Rachel, who was a subject of the first game as she was presumed missing during most of the game. Since that this is going to be a rather short game and for the fact that it is going to be episodically released it would be an easy game to pick up.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: So, this is the only Switch game that I have on this list but this is the one that to me looks like it could be really fun to play. Mario on his way to Peach’s castle but hijinks ensures where he sees a vortex floating above him where Rabbids begin to fly out. It is now up to Mario and his friends with the help of four heroic Rabbids that dress up as different characters to stop the invasion. But the coolest thing about this game is that this looks like Ubisoft took a page out of the X-Com series where it is a turn based tactics game and this makes it more interesting than usual.

Monster Hunter World: I found this to be one of the weirdest reveals from Sony’s press conference and that was that Capcom where bringing out a new Monster Hunter game to consoles, which hasn’t happened in a few years since that has happened. I am looking forward to this for a lot of reasons, the first is that we are getting a few new pieces of equipment, the first being a grappling hook, the second a slingshot and a third, that I find to be really interesting, a ghillie-suit. The suit is something that interests me since that with it, it does mean that it would be handy to hunt creatures that spook easily but also something good to distract monsters as well when working with group. The second thing that I like about the game is that it is more open world than what the previous games are, but when I mean open world for this game, I mean that there are no load screens between areas in maps, which is something that was pretty tiring about previous games. The final thing that I like about this game is that since that this game is also playable online, there will be loads of people that will be playing from around the world, and this could build up an amazing community.

Spider-Man: I am a huge fan of the Spider-Man franchise and if there is one thing that I have been looking for the past year has been information about this game and this seems to be really interesting since that it does seem to feature a different villain to what we normally get and that is Mr. Negative. One of the other things that I like about this game is that it looks like that the combat system has improved a lot better since the Amazing Spider-Man games that came out in conjunction to the films, but this time round this doesn’t link with the movie which is something that I do like. But from what I have seen from the game that I dislike and it is more of personal issue and that is I really don’t like the costume that you get from what appears to be the start of the game since I think that the white is too much for the costume. However, I did find out that there will be alternate costumes that will be available throughout the game, so I will be changing out of that costume ASAP.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: When I heard that there was going to be a sequel to Battlefront I was already determined to NOT get the game since I had rather bad experiences and found that EA/ DICE thought that it was better to focus on giving people who bought the season pass to get more perks. But when I saw that they were scrapping the season pass system as well as making the DLC content free for players. This has me more interested in the game so it means that I am not putting an extra £30-40 of additional content for a game that I’m not sure that I would enjoy playing. Another thing that I do like about this game is that we are going to be playing through three different eras where we even get to play as Battle Droids which I am really looking forward to. Another thing I like is that the first game mode that was shown at E3 makes it look rather good as it is a new game mode where the Separatists are invading Theed and it is their goal to break into the throne room to get the Queen to sign the treaty. I think from what we have seen of this it does look like that it is better than what Battlefront is. Hopefully, we would be getting more confirmations on heroes and villains over then next few months and I think that we could see something at D20 this year.

Wolfenstein- The New Colossus: I didn’t know what to think when I played The New Order since that I have never played Doom or the old Wolfenstein and didn’t know what to really expect. But I do have to say that I really enjoyed playing it since that it was a rather fun FPS, which I haven’t had fun playing in years. This game has me interested since that it pretty much continues off after the events of the first game where you have to protect your family and create new alliances to defeat the Nazi’s.

Honourable Mentions:

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon: This is something that I am more cheating with since that it was only revealed before the start of E3 when Nintendo held a small Direct Conference where they revealed this at the end but more importantly Pokken on the Switch. I think that this looks rather interesting since that it seems that it could be going down the line of Black 2/ White 2 where the trailer looks like that we are in the same region, but it looks like that there are more things going on and I think that the story is going off the events of the first game as we know that Lillie is off trying to get her mother better after the events of the game. But other than that, I don’t know that much else about the game, but I guess that we may get another Direct in a few months where they may reveal more information about the game

South Park: The Fractured But Whole: I have already gone over why I am looking forward to this game with my list from last year. I do hope that the delays that have come with this game, that being pushed back from December to March then finally coming out in November, but I am still looking forward to it still.

Skull and Bones: One of my top games that I have played on PS3 was Assassins Creed Black Flag and this was due to the naval mechanics where you got to go around the Caribbean attacking and looting ships to make your ship, the Jackdaw, better. When Ubisoft revealed this game I along with a few of my friends got excited since that we enjoyed the naval stuff in the game. But since that we don’t have a lot of information on the game there is only so much information that we could take on hand at this time.

What Happened to Marvel’s Animated Universe?

One of the things that I have liked about Marvel currently outside of its cinematic universe has been their television series like Avenger’s Assemble, EMH and Ultimate Spider-Man, but there is something that I think for the past few years that has been missing. How come there isn’t that much of an animated universe.

There have been a few films out since Marvel Animation opened their doors in 2008 where they have brought out 8 films, however the last film came out in 2011. I think that this is something that could be easily rectified since that the animation that they have put in for the TV series is amazing and that for a feature film it would be good to see.

I think that using the animation that they have at hand could be a good way that they could tell stories from the different series such as notable stories such as Civil War, Secret Invasion or Siege since that seeing it from the source material would be a lot different from what the Cinematic Universe could be coming up with since that they usually just use the story from the comics more as a guideline than an actual story.

But things seem that they could be on the for animated films, however this won’t be coming from Marvel Animation, but from Sony Animation with their animation take for Spider-Man that is still currently in pre-production and currently what is known is this. The film is set to come out next December. Miles Morales is going to be the Spider-Man instead of being Peter Parker and that Shameik Moor would be voicing Miles as well as Levi Schreiber, former Sabertooth, would be voicing a villain.

Hopefully people will go and see this and if it makes a good enough profit and gets good reviews we may see some animated films from Marvel more often.

Edge of Spider-Verse #3 Review

Continuing off from a blog I did a few months ago we head back into the Edge of Spider-Verse and heading into the universe where Aaron Aikman is our Spider-Man.

The issue opens with the backstory of Aaron and how he became Spider-Man and in this universe, he is a molecular biologist who also branches into bioengineering and molecular chemistry and in secrecy he experimented on himself by cloning a Spider’s genes into his own genes and became Spider-Man. A cool part of this story of this story is that they give a backstory to his suit but also his villains, including one called Redeye. But the introduction to the main story opens with the introduction to Spider-Man’s latest villain called Naamurah.

Aaron is in his lab late at night working on a new batch of webbing to make it stronger the next time that he faces off against her. We are then introduced to the other main character of the issue Doctor Kaori Ikegami who is Aaron’s boss and we get a text dump about her. But the most important that we get is that it turns out that seven years ago her daughter, Hannah, was hit by a car and that she has been for the past ten years and during that time Aaron was supportive to her that they are to believe to be in a relationship. But then one day Kaori changed and she moved her daughter to a separate facility.

Aaron then spent time to devote to his time to find out who Naamurah is and he came up with a cunning plan to stop the nightmare but that gets put on hold for a bit when he gets a knock at the door where Kaori appears. And then she kisses him. She asks him to run away with her but he turns her down saying that he had to catch a redeye but she then changes her mood and then goes off on him saying that he doesn’t care about Hannah. He retorts saying that she didn’t want him to be involved with her daughter and then asks her if she is dead and Kaori flees his apartment. On the street, he thinks to himself that Spider-Man is going to attack tonight.

We then get a two-page spread of Spider-Man, mid-flight, and runs for a search to find where Naamurah and manages to save the victim. But during saving Naamurah manages to get the drop on him but she gets wrapped up in webbing. But when he finds out that the person that he has caught isn’t actually another person called Daarroh, and it turns out that Spider-Man knows who the person and that’s being a victim of Naamurah. Spider-Man then takes Daarroh to the research facility that he works at and it is revealed that the suit that he was something that seemed to be keeping the patient alive. Aaron asks if they still have the robotic suit and the doctor there says that they do as the police are picking it up in the morning. But since their expert in robotics is unavailable but it turns out that he is more help since that a part of the robot suit that was taken off the patient was a bio-engineered neural interface that Aaron had designed, to help Hannah.

In a workshop, Spider-Man confronts Kaori on where Hannah is where she replies that she isn’t there and that she is gone. She asks Aaron, not Spider-Man, to not hurt her for what she has done, but he interrupts her asking her about the neural interface, who Naamurah is and where Hannah is.  So, she then tells him the truth and that is she was successful with getting her daughter out of the coma but then something bad starts to happen. She starts to hallucinate that she can see somebody and that she ended up turning into Naamurah. She then tells him that she was forced to build more of suits for people and that she had turned them all into walking machines.

Spider-Man runs out of the room to try and do something and starts narrating to himself that this was his fault and that he is the only one that can save the world from this invasion. But as Spider-Man gets to the end of the corridor he is interrupted by Morlun, and it is led that he killed him and that his world is to be overrun by the walking machines created by Naamurah.

Overall this is a really good story that was made for this one shot, it gave a back story to character introducing his villains rather well.

Edge of Spider-Verse #1-2

Back in 2014 the Amazing Spider-Man series was back and Peter Parker was Spider-Man again but that wasn’t just, it was decided that the whole entire Spider-Verse was in jeopardy from a family of hunters. But I am not going to cover Spider-Verse just yet but I am going to start off with the first two issues of Edge of Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man Noir: The opening of the issue starts off with the premise of the series and then the background description for this series Spider-Man. The opening of the issue shows people in a theatre watching footage of Spider-Man beating up a group of mobsters with a narration over it saying that it has been three months since the last sightingeosv1 and that mob bosses such as Al Capone, John Dillinger, The Goblin and The Crime-Master were dead and the voice overs asks if there is still a place for Spider-Man in today’s modern America. Outside the theatre two people are talking about Spider-Man noting that the way that he moves, his speed and agility that he has the blood of Anansi, a Spider God. The woman asks how they can find him and he replies saying that he’ll think of something. We then see a poster of The Magnificent Mysterio and a kid asking his dad if he would take him to go and see it but says no and then the child says what about Jungleworld which he agrees to take him to.

At the New York World’s Fair, we see Peter, Mary Jane and Aunt May and try to think on what they are going to see with Peter suggesting to see The Dream of Venus but May says that she doesn’t like Salvador Dali and then suggests that they see Mysterio and he decides to give MJ the decision who seems to have her mind on something else, which Peter narrates about, and she says that she would like to see some magic. Inside we see that Mysterio is at the beginning of an illusion called the Sphere of Death. But as the illusion starts Peter’s Spider-Sense starts alerting him of something and May asks if he is alright but he brushes it off as a migraine.eosv4 We then see Mysterio’s illusion go off and the sphere that he is in gets electrified, with Mysterio coming out safe and dry. They leave and discuss on how they think that they did it and Peter suggests that it was done with dry ice and technobabble but he then think that this was an illusion and that he didn’t even get in the sphere but he says that he has no idea.

Back stage Mysterio and his assistant talks about how he spent three years coming up with the technique and he wastes it on the public when she says that they could be using it on Wilson Fisk so that they can run New York. But Mysterio says that he prefers Fisk as a willing partner until he can kill Spider-Man and show Fisk his true power. Then just as talking about him, Fisk appears who tells him that he has found somebody that Mysterio will want to talk to. They arrive in a shady back room and it basically gives exposition on the Spider-Totem and what happened during the run for Spider-Man Noir. The Ox then asks if he is going to be let go but Mysterio asks him about Felicia Hardy.

Fisk and Mysterio head to her apartment and they ask her if she was Spider-Man’s lover where she replies that it was pretty much a rumour. Mysterio asks her to take off the mask and when he butler/assistant trues to intervene Fisk shoots him. Mysterio again asks for her to take off the mask and she does with Mysterio having a shocked expression on his face and asks her who did this to her. Sher replies says that the it was the last man who thought that she could lead to Spider-Man. Fisk says that there is nothing that they can do since that she most likely won’t tell but Mysterio says that it doesn’t matter since they now have her and that it will make Spider-Man come to them.

A day or so later MJ reads an advert for Mysterio’s next special show where he will eosv3challenge Spider-Man to make a blood sacrifice to the spirit of Anansi or the masked Cat Lady will be killed. Peter excuses and calls the club that she owns to find out that she didn’t know where she went and Peter decides to don the Spider-Man costume one more time. On Thursday Spider-Man arrives at the theatre and drops onto the stage telling Mysterio to drop the knife. Mysterio is glad that Spider-Man had arrived and sheaths the knife he then tells his assistant Ella to do something and she drops a ball that released some sort of gas that causes Spider-Man to become disoriented and Mysterio clobbers him over the head with what looks like to be a mace.

He wakes up to find himself chained in a glass coffin and Ella sticks a syringe in his arm and takes a sample of his blood. He then starts a ritual in the name of the Lord of the Spiders and then challenges Spider-Man to escape the coffin before the water fills up and then he wraps around a curtain to block any attempts for the audience to see him escape. One of Fisk’s partner’s comments saying that Mysterio has some nerve trying to kill Spider-Man since that he can kill him and blame it on faulty equipment. Spider-Man manages to web his mouth to create a pocket of air so that he can regain his strength. Mysterio checks on the process Spider-Man’s death but when see that he has something over his face Spider-Man breaks out and takes down Mysterio rather easily.

Spider-Man frees Felica and then he starts to get more migraine when one of the Inheritors arrives and tries to kill Spider-Man. eosv2He tries to pull a gun on him however the Superior Spider-Man appears out of his own portal and rescues Spider-Man. The Inheritor tries to kill them but he fails to. Mysterio asks where the blood of Spider-Man is but he can’t find it because Felica stole it. In 2099 Spider-Man asks where he is and Otto fills him in what has happened and says that a homicidal madman is out to kill the Spider-People through the Multi-verse and he decided to create a meeting with the people that he has been able to save ending issue one where we see Spider-Chip, another Spider-Man, a different Spider-Woman and what appears to be Man-Spider but still in a human form.

Gwen Stacey: Spider-Woman: The issue opens more differently to the previous issue and this is we see a bad rehearsing in Midtown High Gym which is led by Mary Jane called The Mary Janes and for some reason MJ can’t get the song right. eosv6But this then gets diverted to the origins of Gwen Stacey, the drummer in the band, and how she got her powers and how she became a public menace. In this Gwen becomes Spider-Woman and in a different twist Peter Parker becomes The Lizard and then apparently is killed by Spider-Woman but that could be more taken out of context since that it is only a brief introduction. Gwen then starts playing rather angrily and one of the group called Glory asks her if she is alright and asks if she wants to talk about any problems but she just brushes it off. MJ calls her a total head case but Glory tells her to leave her alone since that it seems that she has a lot on her mind.

We then cut over to Gwen who is now sitting on top of a billboard that has a wanted sign on for her and she narrates on what has been bothering her since that she has a lot of secrets and that she wouldn’t be able to say that and that Peter will never know. She changes into her costume and talks with her dad where he says that she should give up the band a focus on her studies but she replies saying that she loves music and it’s what she wanted to do. He then goes on to some up saying that if you pay attention life will show you where you’re needed most.eosv8 He rushes off the call but it seems that Gwen wanted to talk more, but then a police officer notices her and tells her to freeze and put her hands up. She tries to calm him down so that he doesn’t end up shooting civilians, she tries to get him to lower the gun but he then shoots her. She dodges the shots and then webs the cop to a column, he asks her not to kill him and she questions why she would kill him and says that if somebody got hold of the footage and edited to music he would be remembered by the internet. Gwen leaves the cop as back up arrives and tries to leave to but a helicopter manages to track her down and reinforcements follow her.

Cutting over to a restaurant we are introduced to the two villains of the issue the first is Aleksei Sytsevich, this earths equivalent to Rhino and Matt Murdock who in this is the Kingpin. This sets up that Kingpin wants him take out a target that turns out to be Captain Stacey. Aleksei asks why he wants him out of the picture and he replies saying that it takes Captain Stacey out of the picture for him and makes Spider-Woman look more like a villain.

We then cut back over to the Mary Jane’s where Gwen is running late and they head on without her and we see that Cpt Stacey is in the crowd for the performance. Gwen gets into the green room that her bandmates were in and rushes out of her costume to head on stage. But the contest gets cut short when Aleksei attacks Cpt Stacey and throws him on stage just as Gwen came on. Aleksei gets on stage to try and deal a possible killing blow but Spider-Woman makes the save. eosv5She tries to take the fight to him and but that fails and Aleksei says that he is here to help her but he grabs her into bear hug and Gwen finds it hard to get out, but she uses her drummer instincts and bashes him in the face and webs his arms to a wall. She then punches him in such a powerful strike that it knocks him through a wall.

Cpt Stacey tells her to freeze and she asks him why and that she just wants to be loved by the people but he isn’t having anything of it. He tries to place her under arrest for the murder of Peter Parker but she tries to explain her side of the story and twirls away from his line of sight that but he still focuses on her. He says that deciding isn’t his job but she replies that it would be left up to Jameson’s angry mob or the cop that shot at her. He continues to say that he is going to bring her in and even says that no matter how long that it will take she will see justice.eosv7 So she decides to take it one step further and that is revealing herself to her father. He seems rather shocked at first and asks her how and why she is Spider-Woman and to sum it up she is first doing it for freeing her from her responsibilities but when Peter died trying to follow her she uses his death as a cause on why she does what she does, to keep the monsters at bay. Cpt Stacey tries to wrap his head around what had happened and tells her to get out of here and she thanks him and she web swings away with Captain Britain Spider-Man observing her ending the issue.

For these first two issues, I really do like them. In the first issue, it does make me interested in picking up the run for Spider-Man Noir since I really want to know what the story about what happened before this and finding out what happened to Felicia Hardy. But in the case for Gwen Stacey: Spider-Woman it made me curious on what they were going to do with her character for the series since that this is bringing back a character that was dead in the current universe and seeing what it would be like for Peter to interact with her. Plus since that we are in more current times, she does have her own new run and it is something that I do think that I am going to pick up in the future.

My Top E3 2016 List

So with E3’s reveals and new features announced for this year I am looking forward to quite a few number of games and this is my list of games I am looking forward to.

Resident Evil 7: So just to let people know, I am not a big fan of the Resident Evil gamResident Evil VIIes and have not yet played one. On the other hand I have seen the films and that is all I pretty much know about the franchise. But with this it does seem more down my ally when it comes to games. I am a fan of horror and mystery when it comes to games and from the trailer that it does look really good and interesting. Other than this I don’t think that I can say much else since that.

batman-telltale-720x404Telltale’s Batman: So Telltale has had a lot of success when it has come to bringing out adaptations of comics over the past few years especially with The Wolf Amongst Us and The Walking Dead games and now they have made a Batman game. I was a big fan of the Batman games, mainly from the Arkham series, and I am looking forward to seeing what they are going to do with it. Since that I don’t have the chance to actually go to E3 to try the demo for the game I am really curious about what the story of the game is about but from a interview segment that Game Spot covered is that it appears that there is a lot to focus on Batman and Bruce Wayne so a lot of you actions do have a consequences. I will be looking forward to this but the only thing that I may not be looking forward to is the fact that it could be separated into five different parts which does bug me as a gamer when they release parts of a game instead of just a whole game. The only game that I don’t think that Telltale released in multi-episodes was Minecraft and Tales from the Borderlands so I’m hoping that they do the same with Batman.

Star Wars: So EA held a rather big reveal showing that they have quite a number of ideas that they could be doing with the future of Star Wars. I got to say though I am not looking forward to the next Battlefront game since they should be focus on fixing the first gameStar Wars before shipping out a second. I do hope that they make more games that are just you basic online shooter game, god knows we have too many of them going around. I do hope that they are going to be bringing out new games that could focus around the new film trilogy since there seems to be a lot of things that they could do with the film for instance creating a game that fills in the gap between Return and Awakens since there is a large gap there. I would also like to see a new Force Unleashed game as well since that was one of the games that actually got me back into the Star Wars universe. But there is one game that I do want to see at least make a jump to consol, that being I want to see a Knights of the Old Republic game. Think about having the chance to play as your own character and forging your own legend into becoming a Jedi. But since nothing like that could be possible a man can only dream.

SkyrimThe Elder Scroll V: Skyrim Remastered: Back in 2011 Bethesda released one of my most favourite PS3 game of all time and when I heard the rumours last week that this was going to be revealed at E3, I wasn’t that bothered about its release since that I still have the regular version and didn’t seem that I was even interested in it. But I then watched the trailer from the reveal and I think I changed my mind about it. It has been re-mastered with new textures and colours that make it stand out by a lot. In addition to this they are also going to be releasing it with mod support for console so I am looking for it more since I didn’t have the chance to use the mod’s, I am looking forward to use them. Since there are quite a few mod I really do want to use such as the mod that allows you to have element effects to weapons so I can have an actual flaming sword.

Fallout4Fallout 4: Last year at E3 Fallout 4 was announced and I pretty much my entire time on Christmas Day playing it and I have enjoyed playing it so much. I have enjoyed all the missions that you can do, the characters in the game and all of the DLC’s that have came out. So at this year’s E3 they revealed the next three DLC’s that are coming out with one that is coming out possibly next year that being Contraptions where you can build Mouse Trap in real life. Then you have a DLC that I have been looking forwards to since that I originally thought that I would have had to use for mod’s and that being been able to create your own vault. This is something that I have wanted to do since starting the game and had the chance to go through the different vaults in the game. So from what it looks like there could be the chance to adjust Vault 111 and customise it in your own way which is something that I am looking forward to do. Then the third of the new DLC being Nuka-Cola Land. This looks like that it could be rather interesting since that it seems to be a working amusement park and there are a lot of people going there so that means that there could be a lot of missions to do there. I am really glad that Bethesda have up the effort into making more content for this game and I hope that there is more to come later this year and I am looking forward to using mod’s when it comes to console.

SunMoonPokemon Sun & Moon: I am a huge Pokemon fan and it is pretty much the only game series that I have played through every generation from Game Boy to Advanced to 3DS and have enjoyed playing them all. Since that this game already got announced a few months ago I was just expecting them to show more of the game with possibly showing off the gym leaders or more Pokemon, in which they did end up revealing new Pokemon. But they did show off some new features of the game. One is the new battle interface that looks rather practical. Instead of having just a large red section in the middle to bring up the fight menu it is now located on the right had side whilst the item, Pokemon and run options appear to be on the left hand side which does make it seem a lot more practical. Another really useful feature that they have added is a stat tool. So now when you are in a battle you can now see how many stat changes have happened to your Pokemon or the Pokemon that you are battling. This does make it really useful since you used to count the times that a Pokemon may have used a move like Double Team to see if it would be wise to use a particular move. Another really cool feature that they have added is a new mode called Battle Royal where you and three other people can face off against each other in a Pokemon battle. This is something that I have always wanted to see in Pokemon, when I had more friends who played the game and is something that I wonder will have something to do in game or is just multiplayer. But there is one thing that I did find rather disappointing about the game and that is the appearance of Pokemon from other generations. In all honesty I am not a big fan of this and I would have preferred this if it had a new roster of Pokemon that were available for this game such as with Black and White when the only time that you would have seen new Pokemon was when you beat the game. It did bug me when I played Pokemon Y since there appeared more of other region Pokemon then the ones that were that generation. Other than that I already have it pre-ordered and I am still looking forward to play it.

DBX2Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Ever since last year I got back into watching Dragon Ball Z thanks to the guys at Team Four Star with their Dragon Ball Z Abridged series, but more with one of their gaming series, Dragon Ball Xenoverse. I never got the chance to play the first game and I sort of do refuse to do since that there have been a lot of patches for the game and knowing my chances when it comes to trying to play it would be a waste of time to try and install the game. I am looking forward for this game since that it appears to feature a new story that looks to be more interesting since that in the trailer when they revealed that they could be ways to change the outcome from the past. So we could possibly see Vegeta kill Freeza or something along the lines of that. I am going to be also looking forward for this because they could then end up adding in some of the new story lines from Dragon Ball Super which I am really interested in since there are a lot of good story lines that they can do with it. Plus there is something that I am looking forward to something new that they are doing and that it being able to face movie villains, which I find rather weird since Broly was the only movie villain to appear in the first game. Nevertheless I am looking forward to play this game when it comes out

SpiderManSpider-Man: When The Amazing Spider-Man game came out I played it, when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game came out I played it and with this game got announced I was really excited for it. From the trailer that we got for it looks like that Insomniac knows what they are doing with this game. From what we got from the trailer I think that I can guess that the villain of the game is going to be Mr Negative since that the goons that Spidey takes down see to be of oriental design. There is more likely to see more of his rouges gallery in the game, possibly some small villains but maybe a few big villains, maybe Vulture. The only one problem that I do have with it is Spider-Man’s costume and that I think that the spider symbol should have been white. Most likely we will get new costume skins for the game and I am going to be switching to the next skin that is available.

Death StrandingDeath Stranding: As many people know PT was meant to be the next Silent Hill game, but then Kojima and Konami had a falling out since Metal Gear Solid V and it ended up being scrapped and Kojima went and started his new company and made a partnership with PlayStation. Then we get the trailer for Death Stranding which was such an amazing trailer and possibly one of the best over the past three days. In the trailer all we pretty much see it death, then it pans across to a naked man who turns out to be Norman Reedus, who was part of PT, who ends up finding a baby and then it just disappears when it comes and he stands up and notices five shapes in the sky and they disappear and the title gets revealed. Other than the trailer I don’t know that much else about the game and I am looking to hear more about the game in the next few months to see if it could be a possibility for me to get the game.

TheFracturedButWholeSouth Park: The Fractured But Whole: At last year’s E3 at the very end of the Ubisoft conference they revealed the next South Park game and ever since then I have been waiting patiently for any news from it since then, but there was never anything. Then this year we got a lot of new news and game play. You play a mute character (I am not sure if it is the same character from Stick of Truth) and you can create your own superhero character which all have different powers and abilities so you can have different save files playing different characters. From the story that you see being developed in the trailer is that Cartman manages to piss off Kenny with his idea of creating a film universe of the South Park Superhero Universe and they manage splitting up into two different groups and we then see Butters forming his own army and that’s pretty much it. We then also get a look at the battle system for the game and it is totally different from SoT since that you can now move around the battlefield and in a way creates combos that could help take down people in fights plus being able to push people into objects as well is really useful and looks fun. Another cool battle feature is being able to use cover. The demonstration with Tweak and his power that he used was pretty awesome and I can’t wait to see what other powers that will be in the game. In addition to all this pretty amazing news that we got, they also going to be bringing in Towlie as a pre-order bonus, which most likely will also be a bonus if you just pick up a copy, as well as a copy of Stick of Truth as well. I am really looking forward to playing this game, but I am more looking forward to be watching a walkthrough since that if this game is anything like what SoT there is going to be a bit of censoring that they won’t allow in for the European release.

Spider-Man: Homecoming & What Could Follow:

For quite a long time Spider-Man has always been one of my favourite superheroes of all time and it was one of the first comic series that I read when I got into comic books. I’ve also had a lot of fun watching the series since I was a 90’s kid and Spider-Man was a show that was usually on TV on Saturdays. Then fast-forward to last year and the revelation that Marvel managed to get the rights back to Spider-Man and that we were going to be getting him in Civil War as well as a stand-alone film set for Phase-3. These are the things that I have theories about for the film.

1: Will It Be Ultimate?: So since now that Spider-Man is in the Marvel universe I have a small wondering feeling if it will have any links towards the show Ultimate Spider-Man since that it is aired on Disney X-D. The show is currently in its fourth series and I wonder how much could be adapted for the film. For instance Peter in this incarnation is still in High School where I think that is the age that Peter is in Civil War (apologies to any Americans if I have this wrong, your education system is a bit confusing for me). In the show we also have characters such as White Tiger, Nova, Iron Fist and Power Man but there is a slight problem that we could have here and that is Iron Fist and Power Man are already slated (going to be slated) for a Marvel release since they already got their own shows thanks to Netflix. ultimatespiderman01In addition we don’t even have a confirmation for Nova since we have already seen the Nova Corp from Guardians of the Galaxy so there could be a rather slim chance that we could see a member on Earth anytime soon. The only character that I can think of that they can use if they were to go down the Ultimate route is White Tiger since there is going to be a female character in the film that won’t be a love interest according to sources and that is Zendaya.

2: Rise of the Iron Patriot: With the new addition of Tony Stark to the film there could now be a big chance that we could then see a new Norman Osborn using Starks technology to create his own armour of the Iron Patriot, which could then see Marvel then lead down the path to Dark Avengers.Norman-Osborn-unvieled The only character that I can think that may not be a part of this would possibly Daken since he is a mutant but so were Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch but they are in the main universe. But I am getting off topic here Norman Osborn in the past instalments has been rather sub-par. In the first film he was played by Willem Defoe and he did rather well, but he ended up dying which really sucked and then in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Norman was killed off for plot convenience which really pissed me off as a fan of the series. I thought that when Michael Keaton was announced to be in the film over the weekend I thought that he would be a right shoe in for Norman Osborn but after news articles I read he is no longer part of the casting I feel rather disappointed.

3: Shortened Uncle Ben Death: Now since that this is a new reboot of the Spider-Man universe and the news that there is going to be no origins for the character. We are most likely going to get a very shortened version of seeing Uncle Ben die, possibly in a similar way to where we saw Bruce Wayne’s parents die in either Batman Begins or possibly Dawn of Justice, so that were not going to be bogged down with what a lot of people who say Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man had to endure.death-uncle-ben-105940 It would be rather good if they did this in a flashback format since then they could use it more as a reason why Spider-Man does what he does when something comes up in the film where he needs reassurance on what he is doing is the right thing.

4: Better and Different Villains: Throughout the films that we have seen three different Green Goblins, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Venom, The Lizard, Electro and a terrible waste of Rhino. I am really hoping for this series of Spider-Man films to bring in a different range of villains that could be used rather well for Spider-Man through different number of movies, such as Loki has been used in the MCU being a threat not only to Thor but as well as for The Avengers. One of the characters I would like to see would be The Jackal since that he was part of a big story in the Spider-Man arc with The Clone Saga where we are introduced to Ben Reilly and Kaine who are clones of Peter Parker who both have taken up the mantle of Scarlet Spider. This would be a rather interesting villain to have after the second film since there could be some revelations that could make a really interesting film. The second villain I would like to see would be Alistair Smythe also known as the Spider-Slayer (also the Ultimate Spider-Slayer). He has had quite the many encounters in the series of Spider-Man as well as Spider-Man’s supporting cast as well over the past few years especially towards J. Jonah Jameson since that Smyth had killed his wife when Smythe tried to actually kill Jonah. My third pick for a villain would actually be something that has been a major point in the comics from last year and that is Morlun. Morlun_fire_001

For the people who don’t know who he is, Morlun is an entity from Earth-000that hunts all the Spider-Totems (anyone who is a Spider) through Marvel’s own Multiverse where he nearly killed Spider-Man in the story called Spider-Man: The Other. Morlun is a really good villain to have in the MCU and in addition this would be a really good way to bring in different earth Spider-Men as well for instance if they were to do this we could actually see Donald Glover as Miles Morales.

And this is what I have pretty much thought of what I would like to see from the new Spider-Man we now have, I just hope they don’t manage to screw him up somehow.

Why I Don’t Like Sam Ramini’s Spider-Man

For the past few years I have started to slowly loath the original Spider-Man trilogy, I used to like the films but as I looked more into the back-story of Spider-Man. I’m gonna start at the beginning on what I’ve disliked about the series.

Spider-Man:
The first thing that I disliked about the film is that there wasn’t a original love story between Peter and Gwen ( or Liz) instead they just jumped ahead in years and had him paired with Mary Jane. I think that the story was okay but rather bland at times (over the course of the trilogy), and the fact that Gwen wasn’t featured till the the third film as a filler character they could have had more development for the character but no they didn’t. The second thing I disliked about the film is that he had already web fluid and no web shooters, hell even the cartoons had him with web shooters and why couldn’t this have been put into the film but instead they decided to stupid hand movements to fill the time. Third the Goblin Battle Suit, first to say I think this was unnecessary for the film, they could have at least CGI to make it look like the one from the comics but not a major downer for me. Finally the major death of the film, they killed off Norman Osborn, why the HELL did they do that for, for once scenario they could have kept him alive and return into Goblin in the third film instead of Harry, but no they didn’t and that’s why I dislike Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 2:
Now as much as I hated Spider-Man I disliked this one even more. First off I disliked the fact that Otto had a wife in the film, but the reason that he had a wife in the film is to get some sort of revenge theme but it didn’t hold well, plus he didn’t have a German feel to him, the actor on the other hand portrayed him well. The next thing that I disliked about the film was the fact that Peter started to lose his abilities, this could have been better done better but it was more along the line of comics, but I think that if he stared to mutate would be more cooler. Third, the first crucial thing about the film a subway car full of people saw his actual face, if I were them I would have outed Peter as Spider-Man to J.J. Finally the same ending to the first film they decided to again kill of the villain, another bad move made and I hope Mark Webb doesn’t make the same decision as it could lead to a Superior Spider-Man film.

Spider-Man 3:
Ah so many bad things, where to start first. First revealing that Flint Marko killed Uncle Ben accidentally when the thief knocked into him, why would they have this back-story, the origin and the last fight were the only good Sandman filmed. Second when Peter got overcome by the Venom symbiot his character turned into a total douche, the way that he was dressed and acted made me want to leave the cinema. His character then seemed to just not give a damn about the people that cared about him and I was more glad when he was able to remove the symbiot. Third Venom seemed to look completely wrong, it could have been designed more better plus there was another reason why which I’m gonna double barrel. The final reason I dislike the film is that for a third and fourth time they killed off two characters, first they killed off Venom and Eddie Brock when Spider-Man used a goblin bomb to destroy Venom, then the tie in as they also killed off Harry Osborne, to be fair Spider-Man could have easily dropped Harry off at a hospital but no he left him to die on a construction site.

So these are the things that I hated about the Sam Ramini Trilogy, and when Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out I will show my displeasure after its released.
