Could Scream Queens be the Next American Horror Story?

Scream Queens

One of the latest shows that will be airing this Fall over in America has actually caught my eye from just watching the trailer from the show and I got to say that it does look really well done and it seems really interesting.

I also think that from the first trailer it does seems reminiscent of American Horror Story, mainly for the fact that it is made by the same people that made the series and look how popular that show has gotten with a fifth series already underway as well as a spinoff series in production as well.

The plot of the show centres around a female college fraternity, Kappa Sorority, where the Dean Cathy Munsch, played by Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), stating that anybody can get into Kappa which leads to Grace Gardner, played by Skyler Samuels (Furry Vengeance) and some others including Hester, played by Lea Michele (Glee) and the president of the Kappa Sorority Chanel Oberlin, played by Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) is mad at the Dean for letting this happen so she puts all the new recruits through a Hell Week initiation which leads for somebody to be killed which then leads to the revelation of the show. 20 years ago there was an accident happened where somebody had died and now somebody dressing as the University’s mascot, a Red Devil, which has been targeting people from the sorority. But the thing that also like about the show is that it also reminds me of Scary Movie in a way because it seems like Denise, played by Niecy Nash (Reno 911!), seems really reminiscent of the characters from films like that.

I think that this could be as big as American Horror Story for the fact that it could then have the possibility to go to other places like what AHS did and I would like to see what ways the writers will go with this show. Another thing that I think is going to bring in people to watch the show is the amount of people they have going into the show like Jaime Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele as well as Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande which I think is going to be more interesting for me because I haven’t seen those two act since I grew way past the new wave of Disney plus because I didn’t have Sky at that time. On the other hand I have seen many films and shows with Jamie Lee Curtis in and I know how good of an actress that she is. Emma Roberts on the other hand I do rather like especially in AHS: Coven, she was really good in the show and I haven’t seen all of Freak Show yet but from what I saw from the episodes that I watched I thought she was rather good in that too. So acting wise I am looking forward to what they will be bringing to the show.

So what is it going to be like, I hope by the trailer is going to be and I recently found out that there is going to special premier of the first episode at San Diego Comic Con so I am going to be rather jealous of the people who are going to be able to see it and it looks like that the majority of us will be waiting for September for us to watch it on Fox.

Slammiversary 2015 Results

Tigre Uno v DJ Z v Manik X Division Title Match:

So the first match of the night was a triple threat elimination match, a repeat from the past tv show, where we had the new champ Tigre Uno face off against DJ Z and Manik. I don’t know how it got to that since the challengers haven’t been used that much for matches on tv. So the match does run like a similar X Division triple threat, Uno manages to hit a lot of high flying moves with getting the pin on both Z and Manik with different moves that I think was supposed to be the Sabre-toothed Splash but I could be wrong. One thing I wish that they could have did was something the commentators said and was to have Z and Manik team up to beat down Uno. Nevertheless it was a decent match.

Jessie v Robbie E:

I got to say I wasn’t that much of a fan of the Bromans but once Jessie turned on Robbie I got slightly interested. So the beginning of the match we get a promo from Jessie I got to say it was so boring. This is WRESTLING not the Arnold Classics Jessie. The majority of the match was mainly dominated by Jessie being the power house using moves like the bear hug but Robbie manages to build a comeback but gets looses it for a minute or so. Jessie goes foe a third attempted power bomb and Robbie manages to kick out at two. Jessie then goes for a Boston Crab that the commentary team call the Adonis Lock but Robbie gets to the rope and breaks it. Robbie gets up and hits a reverse DDT and gets the win. Hopefully we may now see something good for Robbie E after winning this match cause I would like to see him at least go back for the X Division title or possibly a World Title shot.

Matt Morgan v Bram:

So this match started as a Street Fight and it seems like that Bram seems was underestimated by Morgan. But Bram was able to get a turnbuckle wrench and start wearing out Morgan using different weapons like a cookie sheet and garbage can. Bram rolls Morgan into the ring and starts to mount a comeback and tries to go for a choke slam and misses. Bram goes to hit him with a garbage can and hits the Carbon Footprint. Bram spent a good minute or two looking for something under the ring but Morgan was able to recuperate and was able to hit the choke slam onto a steel chain and gets a two count. Morgan goes for a power bomb but Bram hits a low blow and then his DDT finisher on the chair and gets the win. Also why did Morgan ask for a Street Fight if he wasn’t going to actually use any weapons?

Austin Aries v Davey Richards

With this match the winner gets to pick the stipulation for Match 5 on the next episode of Impact Wresting. The match did start slow but managed to pick up with a few holds back to back. Davey manages to counter the standing switch into a pin combo but only gets a two. A lot of technical grappling between the two of them and Aries manages tries to set Richards for the Pendulum Elbow but Richards gets in the way. We then have a good back and forward striking but where Aries tried to have Richards miss a drop kick to have Richards do a flip and land on his feet. Aries then gets sent to the outside and Richards goes for a Suicide Dive abd Aries runs off leading to Richards to chase him and lead a good assault. Richards tries to get Aries in the ring and goes for a top rope move but Aries blocks it by going for the top top and hits a double ace handle off the top rope to the outside. Aries then slingshots himself in and then uses the momentum to then do a elbow and Richards gets a One count. Another back and forth we go and Richards manages to build a comeback sending Aries to the outside and hits the Suicide Dive. Richards then sets up for a springboard kick for a two. Aries tries to hit a Discus clothesline and gets hit with a Super kick. Aries manages to get a comeback using a clap technique to then hit a Suicide Dive. Aries hits a Shin Breaker and applies the Last Chancery but Richards gets the rope break, Aries goes for a Brain buster but is blocked and a lot goes down that I then get confused by. Richards managed to get a good combo going hitting a double foot stop for a 2 count then Roode comes out and Edwards takes out Roode for Aries to get a roll up holding the tights for the win. Aries announces the stipulation for the match first jokey saying a bra and panties match but then revealed the real stipulation a 30 minute Iron Man match. This was a rather awesome match to have with two people who have been in tag team matches for the past few months to be back in singles was nice to see and I wonder if that the commentators know that Richards was also a really competitive solo wrestler as well as tag team in ROH.

The Dollhouse v Brooke and Awesome Kong

Another team that I don’t like being the Dollhouse, I think it just seems like another excuse to make a Beautiful People 2.0. Also what the hell is Brooke on she seems to be alot more cheery nowadays. The beginning of the match we see all the competitors in the ring and Kong piles the Dollhouse into the corner and squashes them. Kong then goes on one on one with Jade with Kong just throwing her around. But Jade does have a comeback mounting. Kong hits the splash on Marty Belle and Jade and tags in Brooke where we are a change in the match with the Dollhouse focusing more on Brooke using bear hugs. Marty Belle causes a distraction which causes the ref to ignore the tag from Kong which causes the Dollhouse to mount an attack on Brooke. Brooke manages to tag in Kong and hit a lot of hard hitting moves. Also a small altercation happens with Marty Belle where she accidently hits Taryn and then Jade is left alone for Brooke with her hitting the huricarana from the top rope getting the win. I think that these are the sort of matches that I do like to see in wrestling a near 10 minute Knockouts match that has good points that WWE doesn’t seem to have.

Magnus v James Storm Non-Sanctioned

The match starts on the outside and starts out basically as a brawl with it going around the ringside area going back and forth. They manage to spill through the barricade and lead to a concession stand where Magnus tries to go for a power bomb but Storm reverse it for a back drop. Storm grabs a bottle from under the ring and takes a swig and over hears Josh Matthews saying that he was going to far and threatens him. Magnus capitalises and brings in a table to use but Storm hits a low blow but Magnus recovers quickly and catapults Storm underneath the table face first. They then brawl to the backstage area near the electrical areas causing technical difficulties on the titantron. They brawl to ringside where Magus tries a Axe Handle but misses and hits the guardrail. Storm rolls him into the ring and gets a two. Storm tried to go for the Eye of the Storm but misses and gets countered to a Power bomb by Magnus through the table for only a two. Storm sets a table on the outside and sets Magnus on it. Storm gets another bottle from under the ring but gets unfocused by confronting Earl Hebnor and Magnus sets him on the table and goes for a elbow but misses. Storm goes for a pin and gets a two count and goes for some white powder that Magnus knocks out of his hand and blinds the ref. Storm hits the Last Call and gets a two count and goes for the cow bell and misses. Magus hits a slam and gets a two and the Storm hits him with a cow bell and two Last Calls for another two count. Storm then picks out a load of weapons including a guardrail that Storm position on two chairs. Magus plays defense and superplexs Storm from the top to rope and Magnus gets a two count. Magnus gets a bottle from outside whilst Storm picks up a one from the ring and they both collide with each other and Storm manages to drape his arm over to get the win. This was a rather great match. There could be possibly one last match that we could see in this series and if there is I think that it could be a Death Match after that ending that we had at the end of the match.

During the aftermath there was a lot of technical issues with the audio.

Mr Anderson and Lashley v EC3 and Tyrus

The match starts off slow with Anderson and EC3 with a arm drag and the Anderson tags in Lashley and hit a slam. Lashley and Anderson work on EC3 with frequent tags. But Tyrus makes an interference with the blindest ref who didn’t see it as well as the illegal tag as the ref was held up with Anderson. Tyrus and EC3 wears down Lashley but then gets the hot tag to Anderson and hits a Fireman’s Carry on EC3 and goes for a pin put Tyrus interferes and hits EC3. Anderson tries to hit the same move on Tyrus but EC3 picks Andersons ankle and they start working on Anderson. But Anderson manages to get the hot tag and hits a number of suplexes and tries to hit the Domination but misses and EC3 hits the TKO. Lashley hits a spine buster and Tyrus breaks up the count but gets double teamed by Lashley and Anderson but manages to counter a double suplex. Tyrus tries to hit the Spike but misses and gets hit by a spear and EC3 hits the 1% on Lashley for the win. EC3 gets a lot of motivation for this match going into Bell to Bell on Wednesday

Jeff Jarrett v Matt Hardy v Drew Galloway v Eric Young v Bobby Roode King of the Mountain Match

So the match starts off with Roode squaring off with Hardy and Young with Galloway leaving Jarrett alone in the ring. This then leads Jarrett to then show off his skills after being off TV for years and Roode manages to get a pin on Jarrett becoming the first person eligible for the match. Hardy tries to get advantage over Roode hitting a side effect and only gets a two. Jarrett gets released and is met by Young and ambushes him and gets the pin on Jarrett who again is sent to the penalty box. Hardy plays more defense by taking down Young and Hardy takes out Young and Roode with the ladder. Galloway blocks Hardy’s attack and hits the Futureshock DDT on the ladder and tries to pin Hardy but Roode breaks up the pin. Jarret gets out and then is low blowed by Young. Hardy and Galloway pin Young and Roode and Jarrett knocks Hardy and Galloway off the ladder and hits the Stroke on Galloway for a pin attempt to be broken up by Hardy. Jarrett then tries to hit the the Stroke on Hardy to get broken up again. Roode and Young team up together to take out the other competitors which they then turn on each other. Hardy and Galloway sets each other up from a high risk move and Jarret helps but Roode and Young pin Galloway and Hardy leaving Jarrett dumfounded and they all start brawling. Young grabs Jarrets guitar but Jarret and kicks Young in the crotch and smacks Roode in the head with the guitar. Young and Jarret battle on the ring side and leads Young to Piledrive Jarrett on the ladder. Galloway then climbs on top of the penalty box and dives on Roode, Hardy and Young. Galloway takes the title but is met by Hardy who hits the Twist of Fate and Hardy heads up the ladder. Roode block Hardy and hits a power bomb on Hardy. Roode tries to climb the ladder and is intercepted by Young. Young is then intercepted by Jarrett and hits the Stroke off the ladder. Jarrett then climbs the ladder and hung the title and wins King of the Mountain belt. So what does the future now hold for Jeff Jarrett since he does now hold TNA property, we may see at Bell to Bell who knows.

Overall I think that this was a good PPV from TNA other than the technical difficulties that they had after Storm/Magnus and the booking for the X Division title match other than that it was good and makes me look forward to Wednesday Impact. 8/10

Game of Thrones Season 5: Hit or Miss

Ever since this season of Game of Thrones reared its head I was rather uncertain about it because it had clarified in a few articles that it was going to come up with a lot of new material. Which it did rather well in some cases but then again there were some cases that just seemed rather bizarre and rather disappointing scenes.

For me I have been a really big fan of the books and I was looking forward to what the writers of the show were going to include since there was quite a few good stories that they could added and in the entirety of Season 5 they only used roughly five actual story arcs from the book and adapted them to the show. I was rather at a mix when I saw most of the season. I thought that some of the beginning of the season was rather good with having a different take on Tyrion travelling with Varys to go to Daenerys in Meereen which is different to what it is in the books as Tyrion is transported on a boat with two rather good characters Ben Cottington and Aegon Targaryen who is going to Meereen to convince Daenerys to start the taking of the Iron Throne. But instead we have Tyrion and Varys talking inside a small carriage for a few weeks back to back until Jorah Mormont decided to kidnap Tyrion and sail back to Meereen so Jorah can try and pull favour with Daenerys to let him stay by handing over Tyrion. I think that this is rather mixed for me because I liked it in the books better.

The next thing that makes me think that this series is a hit or a miss has to do with the weird Sansa returning to Winterfell story. For the first thing this is another adapted chapter from the book since I think that it was a POV chapter from Reek where it was actually a Jeyne Poole who was being posed as Arya so the Boltons could get support from the North Houses. I think that this was rather well done up to the part with the rape scene, which again people complained about like last season with Cersei and Jamie, and it did feel rather uncomfortable to watch though from a behind the scenes notes and interviews after the episode aired the actors were committed to do the story. Other than that in the last episode of the series there was a rather good scene when Sansa is confronted by Myranda who sort of threatens Sansa but Reek/Theon saves Sansa and throws Myranda off the walkway and then this leads to the more stupid idea of her and Theon jumping off the roof to what seems like a large snow pile unfortunately there fate is undecided since that was the last we saw of their characters.

Now for something that confused me a lot during this season and it revolves around one character, Stannis Baratheon. This characters season has been one that has been rather strange. For instance therein the episode Sons of the Harpy, Stannis is shown as nice caring father and told her the story on how she became afflicted with Greyscale and how he did everything in his power to find a cure for her and then in The Dance of Dragons Stannis then has her burned at the stake. I still can’t believe that happened. Why would you have a character that is nice to his daughter for one whole part of an episode that then becomes a popular meme to then become a despised human being that then ends up also losing his wife after she killed herself.

Another thing that was a hit and a miss for me was the whole story at the Nights Watch where a lot of it did stem from the book. Jon Snow became Lord Commander, he also chopped off Janos Slynt for insubordination, as well as having the Wildlings cross to Westeros to try and live peacefully and also being stabbed by his Brothers all that I was fine with and then in Hardhome I was rather curios and jaw dropped when I watched it with the massive White Walker attack on Hardhome that was basically Episode 9 material in that part. Then thing that I liked about it was the fact that there seemed to be more White Walkers and they seemed to be better organized than they were when at the end of Season 2 when the whole crowd of them were passing through the Fist of the First Men. Also the White Walkers seems to be more powerful than what people thought with their leader being able to raise the dead and add more to his army. I thought damn this is going to be epic next episode but then you don’t see them for the rest of the season, so at least that is something to look forward for next season.

Meanwhile in Bravos, Arya has finally gotten in to the House of Black and White and is on the learning path to become a Faceless Man erm Woman and she starts to learn more and more each episode about what life with the Many Faced God is like. But then one of Arya’s names on her kill list appears in Bravos guiding Mace Tyrell to the Iron Bank where Arya realizes that this would be the opportune time to kill him. So she follows him into a Brothel and finds out that he has a small fetish for young girls so Arya abandons her current mission and focuses on killing Meryn Trant by posing as a young girl and stabs him pretty much everywhere and slits his throat. This ends up with Arya being tricked in some sort of crazy way thinking that Jaqen H’ghar had killed himself and this leads to Arya discovering masks upon masks on his body till she finds her own face and then go’s blind. Now this does happen in the books and she then has to find a way to get her sight back. This for me just seemed to either be really dragging or rather boring. I don’t know if it was just me but it seemed the points that where dragged out could have been shortened.

The only thing that the sort of stuck with mainly was the Margery/Cersei story where they were having a war over Tommen with Cersei not wanting anything to do with Margery and Margery wanting Cersei to be many miles away in Casterly Rock. Now with this I liked it even more because they then brought in the High Sparrow and had them taking people in because people have lost faith in the Capitol and the Sparrows have a majority of ruling as well. But I do hate the fact that the Sparrows aren’t afraid to rough and violent with people. One of the things that I liked was the that Cersei got her just deserts for admitting that she did have relations within her own family behind her relationship when she was married. Then there was the scene that I was looking forward and that was Cersei getting shamed on her way back to the Red Keep with people throwing literally shit at her. But what I want to know is what happened to Margery, we know what happened to Cersei but what happens to Margery wasn’t shown in the show, for all we know she’s still in her cell going crazy.

Overall I do think that this series is a massive hit and miss. Each episode does have it good and bad points that can make or break an episode or can cause praise or have people complaining about scenes that shouldn’t be in the show. Either way I would recommend the series but I would give out key episodes to pay attention to.

7.5/10 Overall Score.

Working Progress: Elder Scrolls Online: Is it Any Good?

So for the past 2 weeks or so I have been playing the highly anticipated console version of Elder Scrolls Online and finally got to level 15 over the weekend and I got to say I do feel rather disappointed with the game in rather many different ways.

For instance nearly 60% of any rewards that you get in the game during the early missions are pretty much unusable for the fact that you need to be at least 5-7 to use them or with some of the really good items you have to be 15 or higher which makes them rather useless to have them around with you.

Another thing that I find rather annoying about the game is that there are some dungeons that are a real nightmare, especially during one of the Fighters Guild Missions where I had to go against a Level 15 Dwarven Sphere and I was only about Level 5 or 6 at the time, barely any hits were getting through and I was nearly about to rage quit. But I was able to then manage to get through the dungeon and was able to beat the boss at the end with relative ease. Its stuff like this that gets me rather confused. I was able to defeat a boss but not a minor enemy that just doesn’t make much sense.

Third thing that really does me dislike the game is the amount of people that can screw up one mission for you. For instance there is one mission where you have to get into Fort Virak and the only way you can do it is by going through the ruins and past the ghosts, the problem with this is that if one person screws it up then there is a major possibility that the ghosts will then target you so then and again with the stuff in the Dwarven Ruin I actually did rage quit because of the amount of people that were in the mission which got me thinking, how come that mission isn’t in a solo dungeon, it would have made it a lot better since you don’t have other people being assholes and ruining your experience.

Finally one of the things that I do find annoying is something that I brought up in my Expectations blog and that horses are expensive. Really the cheapest horse that you can buy in game is 17,000 gold coins and the better horses would cost up to 42,000 gold which is really ridiculous. The only other way to get a mount in this game that I know of is through the Crown Store were you can get more horses or other creatures such as Lions and the only way that you can get Crowns if you get the Crown Addition or spend more money through micro-transactions via the different console stores. It is rather stupid with the prices of the horses in the game and I hope that there is a way to get a mount without paying the ridiculous fees in game or by micro transactions.

But with the bad there is also some things that are rather good about the game. The design for the game so far has been on a way better scale than their previous games. To me the designs for the game seems to be on a total upscale and sometimes it looks like they had added a rather good ENB to the game which make quite a few of the exterior locations seems to be really well do and a lot of attention put into detail with the game. Also the character designs seem to have been upgraded a lot as well because since most low level characters don’t either know how to make helmets or can buy helmets you can see the amount of detail that has been put into the characters from the shape of their face to the bushiness of beards to the style of the scar everything seems to look a lot better.

So far I haven’t had the chance to check out what the Cyrodiil campaign where it is PvP mainly because I want to try and do more story missions and try to get more weapons and armour that I could find useful for the.

Overall I do have a lot of mixed feeling for this game, but with there being a new, I want to say updated expansion, being aired at E3 I hope that there is going to be a update for the game because it needs it there seems to be still quite a few bug to the game. But if I was to recommend the game to a friend, absolutely I would recommend the game, it does have its own problems but what games nowadays doesn’t. So far I give it a 7.5/10.

Update: Since the latest update has came out I have got to say that I am rather disappointed with either Bethesda for rolling out a 15gb update for the game since it doesn’t favour people who have a slow download speeds since that it has taken me over a day or so to try and download the update. It makes me so annoyed that updates like this take so long do make me fell like that it ruins a game, especially a online game like this. I don’t fully know if this is Bethesda’s problem, Sony’s problem since they have revealed that people have been having trouble for people to download updates such as on Arkham Knight or my service provider since some of my neighbours have been complaining that they haven’t been able to access their broadband properly. So I am now going to be changing my 7.5 result to a 7 because of this.

Elder Scrolls Online: Expectations

I have been waiting for a long time for this game to be finally announced for console release and when it was I was extremely happy. I had enjoyed playing the last instalments of Oblivion and Skyrim though they still do have a load of problems with them for console hopefully ESO won’t be too bad.

But from what I had saw on a video from Angry Joe, the game seems to have at least during the beginning to have a load of problems with the game. Such as when you kill an enemy you only got a few gold coins or having problems with connection problems where it most times the game would crash. But since that this version is built for the console generation hopefully there will be not much of these problems that would occur.

One of my biggest expectations of the game is mainly the story. You have a Daedric Prince Molag Bal trying to conquer the world of Tamriel in the midst of a civil war between three factions that all play in different areas which does give a rather different playing field to what the previous games were like when we just got one region that we could explore. Another thing that I do like about the game is that you only have three factions to play as which makes playing with friends either rather enjoyable if you’re playing as races in the same faction this would make experience better. But if your friends are going with a different faction then there is a chance that you would be able to face against them in PvP which I believe is in the same area where the Fighting Tournament is in Oblivion.

However a thing that does rather bother me about the races is this, if you have the Imperial Edition, then you can not only unlock an extra class, Imperial, but you then get to choose whatever faction you can be with regardless of what your race is. This is rather stupid thing that they could do and one of the main reasons that people spent the extra £20-30 buying that edition. Though for a gaming collector like myself I would be still sticking with what I had already in mind. Nevertheless I still think that it is a waste of money, yet it does have the extra perk which I will explain next.

But with the good again comes with the bad and that comes with the prices of the mounts that you get in the game. Since that you have a lot of open world areas that are going to take ages to try and cross which on foot would take a long time to try and complete without a horse. One of my problems is that horses are the most costly thing that is in the game, unless you picked up the Imperial Edition where you get the Imperial Horse for nothing in game, the cheapest horse starts off at 900 crowns. But if you want a decent horse it would then either cost you between 10,000- 42,000 gold pieces. I do seem rather ridiculous this way because you’re saving up for something that only helps you get around quicker that could be put in to get you better weapons and armour.  So for buying the Imperial Edition then it is worth it for saving the money instead of spending a load on a horse in game.

A thing that I do like that was shown in one of the latest trailers is that you can explore dungeons in the game with a party of four people, so this means that you and three friends can go and explore a cave and try and see what creatures, secrets and treasure that you can find. This I think can go really for the fact that if there is something rather challenging then if you have characters that have different abilities then it should go over rather well. However since that this is an online game then I get the feeling that there could be a few issues with it like in previous games like Destiny. For instance a third of the time that I played Destiny I had a load of problems trying to connect to servers or servers pushing me out when I was doing missions or in the Social Areas. Another problem that would probably happen would be down to what your friends’ internet connection would be like, because again when I played Destiny there was a few problems when it came to some of my friends having problems connecting to the internet. Hopefully there won’t be that many problems this time.

Overall, this game has had a lot of hype to go with it and personally I think that hype can either kill something or make it great, to some. For my expectations I’m going to give it a 7.5/10 mainly because I think that there are going to be quite a few problems with the game with some bugs, depending if they are using a similar patch to the PC version then there could be a chance that there might not be as many problems with the game.
